Bluesound, a major player in the world of multi-room audio and a serious rival to Sonos, is stepping up its game with two new Dolby Atmos soundbars. The new Pulse Cinema and Pulse Cinema Mini are designed to give audio enthusiasts a premium alternative to Sonos’s popular soundbars, and they’ve got some key advantages.
The flagship Pulse Cinema is a 3.2.2-channel soundbar with a whopping 16 drivers and a total output of 500 watts, making it a serious upgrade from Sonos’s Arc Ultra. But its biggest advantage is its integration with the BluOS platform, which allows you to stream high-resolution audio over Wi-Fi and easily group speakers from multiple brands. It also has a cool feature with built-in sensors that automatically adjust its sound based on whether it’s wall-mounted or on a surface.
The smaller Pulse Cinema Mini offers the same great features and BluOS integration for smaller spaces. Both soundbars are a bit more expensive than their Sonos counterparts, with the Pulse Cinema costing $1,499 and the Mini coming in at $999. They are available for pre-order now and are set to ship in October. If you’re looking for a premium soundbar system with high-res audio capabilities, this is one to keep on your radar.
