Lotus is dialing up the performance on their Emira coupe later this year with the launch of the V6 SE, and this thing sounds like a proper driver’s car. As the name suggests, it’s packing a supercharged 3.5-liter V6, good for a clean 400 horsepower. You can spec it with either a proper six-speed manual (our pick) or an optional automatic, both capable of hitting 62 mph in a blistering 4.3 seconds and topping out at 180 mph.
Aside from straight-line speed, Lotus optimized the damper calibration and tweaked the wheel alignment for even sharper handling, all while improving ride comfort. You get two driving modes, Tour and Sports, to tailor the experience to your mood. It rolls on sharp 20″ forged alloy wheels, and inside, the Alcantara-lined interior with sport pedals keeps things properly sporting.
