Panerai is diving deep into its archives, reissuing a watch originally built for the Italian Navy in 1993: the Luminor Marina Militare (PAM05218). This new model faithfully references the original, with a 44mm stainless steel case featuring a DLC coating that perfectly matches the size and PVD finish of its predecessor. Even the dial’s typography and mismatched colors—a nod to the chemical reaction of tritium and varnish on the original—have been meticulously recreated.
Inside, the watch is powered by Panerai’s in-house P.6000 calibre, a manually-wound movement with a three-day power reserve and Incabloc anti-shock device. It comes paired with a striking gold brown calf leather strap with T/T stitching, and for your more adventurous pursuits, a black rubber strap is also included.
This is a watch that oozes heritage and military-grade cool. The Luminor Marina Militare is now available through Panerai boutiques worldwide for $8,800.
