Honda is bringing back a legend. The 2026 Prelude is officially here, marking the return of a nameplate that’s been absent from the market for over two decades. This time around, it’s not a two-door coupe but an athletic, grand-touring hybrid designed to be both fun and efficient.
The new Prelude is powered by a two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain that pairs an in-line 4-cylinder with an electric drive motor to produce 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque, all while getting an impressive 46/41 MPG. It also borrows components from the Civic Type R, including Brembo brakes and a dual-axis strut front suspension, to ensure it handles as well as it looks.
Honda also debuted the S+ Shift system, a new drive mode that uses paddle shifters to replicate a sporty transmission experience. The interior is driver-focused with sport seats and enhanced visibility, and it comes standard with a full suite of tech, including a 10.2-inch digital cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen, and Google built-in infotainment. The new Prelude will be available this fall.
