Located in West Seattle, Studio Leitz serves several purposes for the owners, photographer Aaron Leitz and his wife Kelsi, a Pilates instructor.
The 400-square-foot structure, detached from the owners’ residence, includes a studio, office, and exercise space. The colors have been kept neutral by designers at Heliotrope for good reason. The mix of the kiln-dried Western Red cedar on the exterior, and limed-washed walls on the interior, provide a simple but inviting space for creating.

Despite it’s small size, a skylight helps to bathe the studio in natural light. Stepping out on to the covered terrance, built of Douglas fir, creates a tranquil space to observe the nearby Olympic Mountains and take a break from work.
