Polestar just unveiled its new flagship model, the Polestar 5, an all-electric grand tourer that is both sleek and powerful. The four-door sedan retains the futuristic styling of the concept car, with a sporty, aviation-inspired silhouette, a low nose with an integrated “SmartZone” for cameras and sensors, and a massive panoramic glass roof that stretches over six feet.
The Polestar 5 is all about performance. You can choose between two powertrain options, a dual-motor version with 748 horsepower and a Performance option that cranks it up to a blistering 884 horsepower. The latter can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds. With an 800V electrical architecture, it can charge from 10-80% in about 22 minutes on a DC fast charger.
The interior is just as impressive, with a 4+1 seating configuration, front seats designed with Recaro, and premium materials like leather and recycled fibers. The infotainment system is powered by Google, accessed through a 14.5-inch central display, and an available 21-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system is available for audiophiles. Pricing and availability for the US market will be announced soon.
