Seiko Reissues Japan’s First Wristwatch

Seiko Presage Laurel SPB359

Seiko is bringing back the watch that started it all — the Laurel.

The reintroduction of the Seikosha Laurel offers a faithful recreation of the original design in a 37.5mm case. Seiko added precise details like the large onion crown, an enamel dial by Mitsuru Yokosawa, and blue hands, to bring the original back to life. It also comes with a bund-style strap

Powering the watch is Seiko’s 6R27 automatic movement, which has a 45-hour power reserve. The face includes a power reserve indicator at nine o’clock.

Seiko’s releasing the Laurel in Japan in January and it will be limited to 2,500 pieces.
