If you’ve spent any time in United’s current Polaris cabin, you know it’s a solid way to cross an ocean. But on March 24th, they’re officially pulling the curtain back on the Polaris Studio, the centerpiece of their new Elevated 787 fleet. More than a refresh, it’s a nose-to-tail transformation that turns the Boeing 787-9 into a premium powerhouse where the business class cabin takes up more than half the plane.
The Polaris Studio occupies the front row of the cabin and is essentially a business plus experience. You get a massive 27-inch 4K OLED screen, a dedicated companion seat so you can actually have dinner with a travel partner, and an exclusive Ossetra caviar service to kick things off. The rest of the cabin gets a major boost too, with every suite now featuring privacy doors, wireless charging, and warmer woodgrain finishes that make it feel less like a tube and more like a high-end hotel room.
United is leaning hard into their Starlink Wi-Fi partnership, promising speeds fast enough to stream 4K or jump on a lag-free Zoom call at 35,000 feet. With 30 of these planes hitting the skies by 2027, your next trek to Tokyo or London is about to get a lot more civilized.
